This page exists so there is never any confusion about what you are buying and what you are not. If anything here is unclear, email me before you book.

Independent, and not affiliated with NYCPS

Next Stop: High School is an independent consulting practice. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to New York City Public Schools (NYCPS), the NYC Department of Education, or any individual school. Nothing I tell you is an official NYCPS communication.

What I provide

General admissions guidance: help understanding how the NYC public high school admissions process works, feedback on a school list, help thinking through program fit, and help keeping track of what is due when. Sessions are educational and advisory.

What I do not provide

• I do not provide legal advice or educational advocacy.
• I do not represent families at IEP, CSE, 504, admissions, or school meetings.
• I do not contact schools, districts, or NYCPS on a family’s behalf.
• I do not log into a family’s MySchools account or submit applications, assessments, auditions, or other materials on a client’s behalf.
• I do not guarantee admission, placement, services, or any other outcome. Anyone who guarantees you a seat at a specific NYC public high school is not telling you the truth.
• I do not provide private or charter school consulting.
• I do not tutor, and I do not provide SHSAT test prep instruction.

Boundaries with my teaching job

This practice is entirely separate from my employment as a teacher. Because of my NYCPS employment, I cannot work with a student who attends my current school or with the sibling of a student who attends it. I screen every booking. If a conflict is identified, I will cancel the appointment and issue a full refund. I do not publicly identify my school or discuss it during sessions.

Student records

Please do not send confidential school records, IEP documents, evaluations, or similar materials unless I have specifically asked for them. The intake form asks only for what a session actually needs.

Verify with NYCPS

Admissions rules, eligibility criteria, and deadlines change, sometimes mid-season. Everything discussed in a session reflects my understanding at that time. Final admissions information and deadlines must always be verified through NYCPS and the MySchools portal.
